Melaleuca Refugee Centre

The Melaleuca Refugee Centre is a Darwin based, not-for-profit organisation that provides an environment for resettlement and recovery of refugee survivors of torture, trauma, persecution and starvation, their families and communities. Through a variety of confidential, high quality, holistic services, the centre provides relief and support to those who have come to Australia because of persecution, war and torture.
Direct treatment services at the Melaleuca Refugee Centre include individual counseling, case management, referrals to relevant services, advocacy, assistance with settlement issues, social support, community development projects and psychotherapeutic group work.
Melaleuca volunteers empower refugees to manage the challenges they experience during their settlement period and play a pivotal role in supporting, befriending and assisting in this transition to a brand new culture.
