Shine For Kids

Shine For Kids provides programs and services to children of prisoners, who through no fault of their own, face unique challenges that can leave them traumatised, stigmatised and isolated.

The imprisonment of a parent often has negative impacts on the health and financial well-being of their innocent children. The impact is often compounded because the child has to cope with the changes required to meet their new situation, such as moving home, or being taken into care. Shine For Kids design programs to assist and support children to develop coping mechanisms as well as to provide opportunities for these children to support each other. The programs aim to overcome social and educational barriers and help these children realise their potential.

The money you helped us raise last year has given Shine For Kids the opportunity to expand their organisation with the purchase of new equipment, software and infrastructure. The organisation relies on the valued support of 300 volunteers, and your donations have helped them expand their volunteer and fundraising programs.
